Bush warns 'entire economy is in danger' - From An Afrocentric View

WASHINGTON - President Bush said Wednesday that lawmakers risk a cascade of wiped-out retirement savings, rising home foreclosures, lost jobs and closed businesses if they fail to act on a massive financial rescue plan. "Our entire economy is in danger," he said.

Now normally,  you may not see me write much about President Bush, but I think this is really important.

If you have been some place in a hole or somewhere, you may have heard of the trouble our economy is in for the past 2 or 3 weeks.

News Flash,  it just didn't happen, this has been going on for at least the past 3 or more years.  You didn't have to be an economist to see.  Something was wrong.  It was in the Clouds....

Believe me or not but I'm writing you with the term Maat in mind and you know how I feel about that term.  (Remember, truth, rightousness, freedom, justice. etc)

The first person that make me aware of this failing economy was Minister Farrankhan,   I know some of you maynot like the man.  Why I can't figure it out because he has only tried to speak for us but after watching and reading history.  I'm not surprise. 

But back to the topic, when you here someone speak about something.  It's your responsibility to prove or disprove it.  Don't take anyone word for Nothing, not even mind. That what Maat is all about, working to get to the truth.  You have resources at your hand like the internet, libraries but you must educate yourself on what's Truth or lies. 

Believe it or not,,, "Lies are part of what keeping up apart and down as a people."

I just want to leave you with one important thing.  "If we don't put something together as a people and stop the B.S. you know what happen in Katrina, imagine this happening on a national level with massive unemployment, people losing jobs, homes, lines of credit, etc.  Who do you think is going to help YOU. 

The Government.....No they are telling you now.  We are Broke. We are just printing money but it's not backed by nothing.  Yeah, it's back by our Military and that's it.  *In the last 1960, the gov't took the U.S. dollar off the gold standard.  So now, our money is backed by WHAT?

Let's get together and take care of self first here.

I would like to give you pointers that I'm reading in several Afrocentic books.  Yeah, you should be reading these books for yourself and I know some are.

So, for the Brothers and Sisters who are in the Struggle...."Focus on What Makes Us Alike Today, Not What Are Differences Are.... that was what Willie Lynch brainwashed us with.

I Just Want To Be An Human Being


Today is Sunday, and while watching 2 football games. My favorite team the "Chicago Bears" lost and the Eagles are winning with minutes left in the 4th qtr.

I did have the opportunity today to do some reading, I'm currently reading a book about Maat.

But, it's still Ramadan and today I lost my pray time sheet so I had to go online to find the time to eat. While doing so I elected to visit a site and read more about my Spiritual Leader, Imam W.D. Mohammad.

I was able to find a link that I haven't seen from the N.O.I. site. So here it is.

I do want to mention something that I've learned this summer from reading dozens of Afrocentic books from various authors.

Division is not good, we must focus on what brings us together. We are Human Beings.
That's what I believe Brother Malcolm (Malik), wanted, that what I feel every Black man whom has fought for his people wanted.

Imam Mohammad, I feel was an excellent example of an human being. Understanding that you may always be able to destroy something but can you build.

It's time that we start building. Building a strong African American and African community everywhere. We have no more excuses.

Focus on what you have in common not what your differences are.

A Masterful Teacher in the Afrocentric Community

Whow,

This is a really good book. I was at the book store a few weeks back looking for something to read during Ramadan. As if I already didn't have enough to read.

Well, this has been a Special Ramadan for me. First and farmost, I like to Thank the Creator for the man, Imam W.D. Mohammad. He was a teacher, a real teacher by the ancient description.

The term I want to talk about is Maat. It's pronounce Ma at...(this is an ancient term from the Kemits (Egyptian or Black land is what Kemit means...that's another lesson).

The term Maat means that the cosmos has order, balance, harmony and reciprocity. Maat behavior then,is governed by the inseparable principles of truth,justice,rightousness,order,harmony,balance and reciprocity.(1-pp16. African Power).

Now, not to change the topic but if Maat means what I wrote above then the opposition would be falsehood and lies. Right....

In the African culture Maat was the truth and a big part of that community. But the Teacher was the one that helps school and educate the community. They also were the ones that would past along wisdom from generation to generation.

An African word for teacher is "Jenga" from Ethiopia. One thing to mention here is to look or view things from the African prospective. Otherwise if your view isn't an African prospective from what point of view are you viewing thing? When you try to educate our children with another point of view it becomes alien to them and you lose their attention. *I'm no teacher but just the other day I was speaking to some African American college students about history. They chose the topic and when I broke it down from their prospective or the African point of view their minds lite up and their eyes hard a sparkle. They were even asking questions and wanted to know where I got my information. In the Books, let's get back on the topic.

Now, the Teacher or African Master is what they were also seem as were...here are some characteristics of the African Teacher

1. They have been tested in the Struggle and Battle.
2. They show extraordinary and unusual fearlessness.
3. They product exceptionally high quality work.
4. They show diligence and determination to our people in everything that is done.
5. They vow to protect, with their lives, their people, land and culture.
6. They Always Speak The TRUTH. (2.pp18-19, African Power)

If you ever heard the Imam speak, seen the mannerism in his body language. Read the literature or books he produced.

I have witness a African Master in my lifetime. I'm Grateful for it. Now it's our time to become masters and Teach our children.

Choose to become Maat.

Afrocentic...Can you tell me this...

They say the number one problem that Africans have is the dislike or trust for one another.

Maybe that statement is too harsh but we must look at reality if we are to ever fix what's not working for us.

Fact.. All other races in the world knows when to come together for the benefit of the whole.

You can't probably tell me one race that doesn't. The Koreans, the Chinese, Hispanic, Europeans, you name and they do.

Where else can you go in someone else neighborhood and most of the businesses are owned by someone else. How many African stores do you see in Chinatown?

How many African shops do you see in the Hispanic neighborhood?

You name it and the numbers are probably the same. It seems that we are more interested in blending into main stream than becoming the Great nation with in and outside of that we could.

This isn't just a African problem it's an African American problem.

I believe we can still change things but we must educate ourselves first.

Economic is power. It doesn't matter how you look at it. Yes, there are some rich African Americans or African period but unless we start to produce and manufactor some of the good and services that we're so quick to use or spend our money on.

We will continue to make others rich and when it comes to giving our own people jobs, jobs that will help a man be a man. It won't happen unless we do for self first.

We don't have to ask for permission, just do.

Farewell to Imam W.D. Mohammad...


I would like to take this time to say "Farewell to Imam W.D.Mohammad. One of the Greatest Imam's of our time if not the Greatest.

Let me tell you my story of how I was introduced to his teaching.

After I made my conversion to Islam, I read everything I could get my hands on. Most of the information was about the Quran or the history of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). At some point it was interesting but I just couldn't relate to everything I had learned about Islam.

One of my most trusted Muslim Brothers (Ejas from Pakistan) told me. Brother, I can only tell or teach you so much, you see, I never ask the questions you ask about Islam because he was born into the faith.

I felt dejected but later I understood just what he meant. I went online and begin to find traces of African American Muslims and begin reading their writings. I later emailed a Imam from Kansas City and he told me everything he knows had been taught to him by Imam W.D. Mohammad. So, I had to find those teaching and the Imam was right here in the Chicagoland area. That was a Blessing in itsefl.

Within the next few years, I went to a few of the Imam's personal appearances or events, I read some of his books. I begin to see the Spiritual side of Islam and I was hooked. I studied and studied.

I also realize that the Imam knew Brother Malik Shabazz (Malcolm X). What that meant to me was a chance to be around history a Great man and indeed he was.

This blog post will never be able to do his justice for he was Greater than my words.

I took my wife to see him last year because I wanted her to remember this Kind, Gentle man. His power didn't come from his physical statue but from his mind.

It was he that taught me, man means mind and what understanding I have with Islam.

Thank you Allah for allowing me, Omar to cross the path of what I consider a Blessed man, one whom you Blessed with Knowledge and Wisdom.

Over 8,000 people was there to say Goodbye to the Imam. We'll miss him

The Movie "Sankofa"

Brothers and Sisters,

I heard of the movie "Sankofa" while listening to an audio from Na'im Akbar. You know he's my man, (In-Sha-Allah, if G-d Is Willing), I would one day want to meet this brother.

Anyhow, I'm watching this movie and if you ever seen the movie series "Roots", this movie is special, the word "Sankofa" means is Akan word meaning "One must return to the past in order to move forward."

It would be wrong to write something here to try to inspire you to purchase and watch this movie. I will share my copy with others as a gift because I realize, one must return to the past in order to move forward but in the past, in the past you will meet somethings you may not like, may not want to visit but as a doctor for the mind will tell his patients, let's go back and together we will move forward.

In Islam we say, As-Salaam Akaikum (Peace be with you), but today, tonight, I say, I love you my brothers and sisters.

Afrocentic and the term Maat


In Afrocentic News, what does the term Ma'at means??

From my definition,,Ma'at means searching for the universal truth. Meaning that you can be wrong it your search for truth which is necessary in finding the truth but you must be willing in accepting when you're wrong and moving forward to the truth.

Now, the problem I see is,,who wants to hear the truth. With that being said,,yeah, I know you believe in the truth but do we....

Let me show you what I mean... my old college friend,,"The Coach" sent me this email today.

Here is a little something someone sent me that is indisputable mathematical logic. It also made me Laugh Out Loud.

This is a strictly mathematical viewpoint...it goes like this:


What Makes 100%? What does it mean to give MORE than 100%? Ever wonder about those people who say they are giving more than 100%? We have all been to those meetings where someone wants you to give over 100%. How about achieving 103%? What makes up 100% in life?

Here's a little mathematical formula that might help you answer these questions:

Afrocentric -news on Labor

Hello Brothers and Sisters,

Today is "Labor Day", and I wanted to write something.

I use to wonder when I was younger, during the Civil Rights Movement, who took part in this historical event.

I mean, for me an African American, it was a changing time in history. So, I ask older friends and relatives. Understand at that time in my life I was about 12 or 13 years of age.

To this day, I've only found 1 person but maybe I'm asking the wrong people which I believe is the problem. But today there's another movement going on and it's for the "Minds" of the people.

So, I ask again, not to you but to myself, Omar, what did you do doing the Afrocentic Movement for the control to the African Man's Mind. I hope to be able to answer my children or grand-children with the right answer.
