I know what some of you might think of when you read the title of the book. "Black Power", I don't want nothing to do with that.
I know how you feel. I felt the same when Brother Chris, recommended it at the book store a few weeks back. What I did was purchased a few of the smaller books by Dr. Amos N. Wilson and I read those so quickly. 2 in one week. I went back and talked to Chris about this big thick book called "Blueprint for Black Power"....it's over 800 pages.
Read this...it's just 1 paragraph from the book,
To the degree that the values of Blacks use to determine their own behavior are originated and controlled by Whites, is the degree Black behavior falls under White control, is the degree Blacks are powerless relative to Whites. This allows Whites to socially control the behavior of Blacks while Blacks believe themselves in control. Black Power requires that Blacks originate their own values and that those values be exercised by them in their interests. pp93
Sister E. from Dallas recently stated in a email that because of the institution of slavery. Black American have been taught not to think for ourselves. We accept thinks from others, that serve no purpose to use. Example... can someone discover something that isn't lost??
I know I can't go to far with ya but that's okay. We'll all learning...
