Hello Brothers and Sisters,
Man, this has been an incredible summer. I mean, I've been reading more this summer than almost anytime in my life.
Books mostly about Afrocentic values.
Well, with that in mind and also being a practicing Muslim. Let me bring something to you just to think about.
I was talking with a family friend a few weeks back. He's a practicing "Christian Preacher".
He mentioned to me during the conversation, "Man means Mind." Personally, I was supprise that he was aware of that and afterwards, we had a real conversation.
So, let's focus on that statement. "Man means Mind." That from a Spiritual point of view. But don't fool yourself, it's real. Let me explain.
Your mind controls your body, not the other way around. If that's so, then ,"control the mind and you control the man."
A question you should ask is..."How do you control a man's mind?" Think about it, with the media (TV,radio, newspapers, etc).
Now, if you're still with me. What imagine are you getting of Africans or African American from these media's? Usually, foolish, negative, nothing of real value, etc
Who owns the media's?
Ahhh,
You can probably see a pattern. I'm just trying to make you think, nothing else.
So, let's talk briefly about the word, Paradigm. What is a "Paradigm"? It's how you may view something? Your point of view. Where did your Paradigm come from? How did you come about it.
There are some great books that goes in this much better than a blog can.
With that say, here's a good book that goes into more debt...on the African Paradigm and the Mind...
Thanks for your company,
Omar Shakur
